Academic Coaching is better in the summer!

Summer is the perfect time to start working with an academic coach. Really, I'm not just saying that. Don’t believe me? Well, here’s why:
I can tailor all of our sessions to focus on the soft skills your student needs without the pressure of schoolwork deadlines. We can focus on skills like organization, vocabulary, grammar, and math without having to also try to get through the work they’ve been assigned in class.
It doesn't feel like more school. Most kids wouldn’t voluntarily work on academic skills in the summer, but every year I am surprised by my students when they tell me that they really enjoy coming to our summer sessions because we can have fun practicing skills while doing activities that barely even feel like learning! During the school year, we often are limited by what needs to be completed for school, but the summer frees us up for more unique sessions and doesn't feel like a continuation of the school day.
We can have much more fun! If your student needs help with reading comprehension, we can pick books that actually interest them to work with together. Do they like working on bikes? We can do math problems that focus on skills they need specifically for that interest! Are they having trouble with organizing their time? We can play time-based games that require them to plan their actions in order to succeed. The possibilities are endless.
Summer learning can focus on your child's interests! It’s less overwhelming. Your child doesn’t have to try to balance school, sports, extracurriculars, AND academic coaching if we’re working on their executive function skills in the summer. Children’s schedules are much more flexible in the summer, and honestly, so are yours! We can work in the middle of the day or in the evening, whatever works best for your family.
If you’re looking for a way to keep your child academically engaged in the summer and prepare them for the next year, look no further, I can help!
